We are not defined by our conditioning, we are empowered to choose what serves us and what doesn’t and co-create the life we desire. If we dream it, we can live it.
My Past Journey
I am Arezoo. Born and raised in Iran, I moved to the US at the age of 23 as a PhD student. Navigating life in a new culture away from family and friends while adjusting to the demanding nature of PhD research was challenging, but also filled with exciting new beginnings—new friendships, new romance and partnership, new life. Even though I recognized I was living the dream of my teenage self, I often found myself lost, depressed, and filled with a sense of disconnection and not belonging.
Seeking solutions, I first delved into self-help books and found some breakthroughs through cognitive behavioral therapy. This was my initiation into my inner world—my thoughts, emotions, reactions, and how I process the world through my perceptions. Later, I recognized and accepted that I needed the further support of a professional to go deeper into my healing work. I began therapy using mostly acceptance commitment therapy and mindfulness practices. I learned incredible tools for navigating my circumstances, a toxic mentor relationship, and graduate school, and ultimately completed my PhD. But this was just the beginning of my deep inner journey.
One of the most significant experiences of my life and a potent catalyst for my healing and evolution was a transformative experience with psychedelic plant medicine. This experience radically shifted my perspective on life, showing my deepest desires, the vastness of love and light inside, and the interconnectedness of all beings. It initiated me into peeling off layers I had mistakenly considered as true and set in stone—ideas about how life is or who I am that were decided by culture, school, and past traumatic childhood experiences.
This journey crystallized my deepest desire to make healing my life’s work, both for myself and in supporting others. Another potent catalyst in my evolution was a feminine embodied leadership training. This opened me to the feminine power and mystery within me that was repressed for most of my life—from my Islamic and oppressive Middle Eastern upbringing to the patriarchal, masculine-dominant Western culture I later encountered.
The backbone of all this healing work and inner exploration has been my yoga and mindfulness practice, and constant learning through books, podcasts, and workshops. They keep me grounded and challenge me to go deeper into who I am, who I am not, and who I am becoming.
My Current Practice
After 8 successful years as a research scientist working in academic labs and biotech startups, I felt a deep yearning for more purpose and connection to my career and life’s work. I left a well-paid position to pursue my passion for holding spaces for healing and growth. Today, as a certified integrative life and wellness coach and yoga instructor, I am dedicated to creating a nurturing space where individuals can explore, heal, and thrive. It’s been the most beautiful privilege of my life to witness people connect to their inner power and actualize their dreams.
Science has been the foundation of my life and work for the first three decades of my life. I love its practical, structured approach—analyzing, testing, and understanding with an analytical mind. More recently, I’ve also come to appreciate and embrace the mystical aspect of life, feminine intuition, emotional wisdom, and playfulness of our unknown universe as well. I acknowledge our limited scientific tools for studying the vastness of the universe and our full human experience.
Now I consider myself a bridge between these worlds—the mystical and analytical, intuitive and logical, masculine and feminine—as we all contain aspects of both. I draw on these complementary energies in my coaching, supporting both your intuitive and analytical abilities. I use science-based tools and understandings of body and brain, alongside observation of the unique subjective experience of mind and emotion, to create a supportive journey towards holistic wellness through modalities of life coaching and yoga.
After countless hours learning different healing and personal growth modalities through books, podcasts, courses, and trainings, I’ve come to a profound realization: within each of us lies the blueprint for living our most vibrant lives. We are the architects of our own destinies, equipped with the power to shape our existence. It’s about reconnecting with our true essence, shedding layers of conditioning and societal expectations that cloud our self-perception. By peeling back these layers, we unveil the boundless potential within, paving the way for a life of authenticity, purpose, and fulfillment.
